Since my avatar reflects me, this is my description:

- On the left: Me, well half of me, since the "body" is really not the only what we are made of.
- Top-center-left (black): A CD cover art from one of my favorite artists, Paco de Lucia. The Flamenco guitar is one of the few music arts that EXUDATES passion, a feeling that drives me on things that I like or people I love. I love playing guitar, makes me feel away when I need to.
- Top-center-right (blue): A high view of the beautiful Maui shores. I love travelling, actually I live for travelling. Some years ago was clear to me that if I was going to make 80 or 90 spins around the sun I had to know Earth as much as I can.
- Top-right (yellow): Halakeala peak sunrise. For some reason I feel every day is a day less, not a day more, so I really thank the whatever luck or god or laws that make me be here alive with all the people and opportunities I have, against all probabilistic chances. In short: I just welcome each day. (Carpe Diem)
-Center-right (red): A top view of the Children museum. I think imagination and creativity is part of the energy that keeps us young and close to our human essence. I try to think always out of the box.
-Bottom-right (green): Shanghai jasmine at sunset. I have a great appreciation and respect for nature. It's inspiring in all senses. Is the place we came from and the place we are going to. We should never loose the sense of overwhelm from simple things.
- Center-left (white): River rafting, I do it every year. The adrenaline, the rush and the survival instinct, makes me feel alive, happy and very human.

5000 Views and my inner shift

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 2, 2013, 7:28 PM

During the last months I have experienced a very strong focus on art. I would not say this is a transformation but an evolution triggered by some lectures (daily lectures?) If I was considered once a sensible person I can say I am now even more lucid on the reverse of things. Art, on definition, is itself arguable but I do not have a better way to explain the essence of this shift, a turning point that goes along with my state of happiness. Can I say that this state is making me more happy than before? I would say no. From a very long time now I have been very well settled in a state of happiness that allows me to feel complete, serene and fulfilled; I would rather say that this evolution allowed me to see more sources of happiness and to blind things that kept me away from this. Curiously this shift was accelerated by the photography and social networks like this: a counter-intuitive use of these interaction media today. Are these media the solution to the human illumination or to its decay?

This period allowed me to see that sometimes we put a lot of focus on the the things that make you happy and to increase rationalization about happiness but this practice mines the happiness itself. The balance on the rationalization to reach a happy state must be tared with turning our minds over the simple and unplanned life: reaction over reason, but always based on common sense, values and care for the other: the foundations of our human condition. But is this foundation cognitively inborn? No, this is built on the happy struggle of our life 'randonnée'. This receptive inner structure is built brick by brick mostly by our family education, external personal experiences (unfortunately most of them the harshest) but one sets it at the end, and once set it is ready to trigger responses that help you to tare the symmetry of our actions towards happiness.

Yes I'm rationalizing but my balance is well tared. How is yours?

Why did I put 5000 views as part of the title? As with my previous post, photography and particularly its publication on sites like EyeEm, deviantArt and Instagram are giving me the chance to understand that there are people with similar windows of the world that of me, and knowing more people for real, not virtually, are giving me different perspectives of the world. The perspective of perspectives, the window of windows. I celebrate with your views your contribution to this shift, and I am very grateful for that dear follower or viewer.

Carpe Diem
